Ausimik's Guitars and Stuff Updated. →
I’ve updated my Flickr set. I’ve gone a bit mad lately buying guitars. I think I may be replacing one addiction (smoking) with another.
I’ve been able to take advantage of the recent “recession” there are bargains everywhere. I feel a bit guilty for being in a position to be able to do it! Being single again does mean I have more cash at my disposal!
But I’d...

These people are just too greedy and too stupid! →
When will the IFPI and the large film and music companies get it… we hate you, we hate what you are doing. reduce the price of movies and music, give us what we want when we want it and illegal downloads will go away. Stop gouging us for maximum profit margins. We are the customers, and aren’t we always right?

World's longest nails broken in car crash →
Even without the hundreds killed and thousands homeless in the bushfires, or the millions who may, or already have lost their jobs and homes in the current economic climate. I doubt I’d feel sorry for some grubby old sheila who won’t cut her nails!

Another first!
This has been a year of firsts for us. First anniversary, first Easter, first birthdays for each of the kids, and now the first Xmas. All the first without Tania. For the kids it’ll be the first Xmas ever without their Mum, for me the first in twenty five years. Xmas was always special for Tania, it was the only time she saw all her family together at once. It was the closest we had to a...

Flaming Warlock Update...
Now termed just the “F” ing Warlock Project.
Two months further along and I’m no further along. I finally got the body back from paint, although I appreciate the effort put in, it’s not to my tase so It’s off to another painter today. To complicate matters further…the neck seems to have gone missing. So I have to wait for it to turn up, or not!. And if not...
While we're waiting!!!
I still haven’t got the bits back from being painted yet. “Having something done for free doesn’t mean it hasn’t a cost.”I’ll continue to hurry up and wait!”
I still haven’t decided on pickups yet.
In the meantime I’ve become aware of a new range of guitars by Epiphone.

Situation Normal?
Hey…. Still not back to regularly posting yet, not because I’m not up to it, but because I never seem to be home nowadays. I’m away most weekends now, and work has been great, they’ve loaded me up with as much as I can handle. This means being away from home at least two nights a week. And my friends here in Wagga are fantastic, not only do they look after daughter #2 when...

I'm still here folks.
Haven’t blogged much of late. I’m starting to get back into the swing of things. Work’s keeping me busy during the day, invites for dinner pretty much keep me occupied in the evenings, and the nights are getting better. I’m travelling more for work, and I go back to Young at least once a week. I had the young fella home last weekend. It must have been hard for him coming...

Tania McMahon 7/02/1968 - 16/03/2008 →
Sadly my wife of 21 years, the mother of my children, and my best friend passed away on Sunday after a long battle with Leukaemia. If you had the pleasure of having known Tania I know you will miss her as we her family will. If you did not know her, sadly you have missed the opportunity of having gotten to know one of the kindest and warmest people to have ever lived. To all our family and...
What a weekend!
We went to Sydney to visit Tania over the weekend. I wish I could say she’s improving, but unfortunately the best I can report is that she is no worse. She’s still not eating and the ulcers don’t seem to be improving. Her Doctors aren’t sure if it’s Graft verses host disease of a virus. The Catch-22 is, if they treat her for Graft verses host disease and it is a...

Still a long row to hoe, but the end is out there...
Just got home from Sydney again. Tania is improving every day. Still a long row to hoe though. She is walking again with the aid of a walking frame, but she is still very dependant on others for even the simplest of tasks. I’ve been with her twenty four hours a day for the last few weeks. She is now at the stage where her sister can manage her during the day, and I think she can manage at...
Dropped off the map!
Sorry for dropping of the map so completely the last couple of weeks. At 10am on Monday the 4th of Feb,I received a call from St Vincent’s Hospital . One of those calls you hope will never come, you try and plan for, but when they do, you’re completely floored. Tania’s Doctors wanted us to come to Sydney as soon as possible as she had contracted an infection and her condition was...
Day +16
A mixed couple of days. Tania still is unable to speak, and she’s come down with a couple of infections. Hopefully antibiotics will take care of these. The good news is her white cell count is on the rise.

Day +10
Just home. The kids and I went down to Sydney to see Tania for the weekend. We had a very scary day Saturday, we waited for her to be released back to her ward from the cardiac care unit. Apparently on Thursday during surgery to replace her central line, her heart stopped. The medical staff were able to get it going again and no permanent harm was done, however they have decided not to change the...
Day +7
Sorry still no photos yet. Had a bit of drama yesterday, Tania needed to have her central line replaces as it was blocked and there was dificulty givig her IV medications. However during the procedure she had a bit of a turn. However she pulled through and will spend the next 24hrs in the cardiac care unit.
Day +6
Treatment is progressing normally to this point. Tania sounded a little brighter on the phone last night. Mouth and throat ulcers are causing some distress to her, but this is expected due to her not having any white cells, the native bacteria in the stomach attacks the mucosa. So she’s in for an uncomfortable time ‘till her cell count comes back up. My first day back at work after...
Day +5
Tania has not been feeling well the last few days, although it’s said to be part and parcel of the treatment, it is hard for her to go through and hard for us to watch. I had to return home to Wagga today as I’ve used up all my leave and have to go back to work tomorrow. Tania and Quayd will be looked after by her sister, I know she’ll be in good hands, but it was still a long...
Transplant Day +2
Well the transplant has been done, and now the waiting begins again. The transplant itself took only about fifteen minutes, and Tania’s brother had to undergo the harvesting procedure for two hours prior to that. Officially today is day +2, Transplant day was Day 0, and the whole procedure started from day -10. This included pre-treatment to get Tania and her donor, her brother Bill ready....
Treatment V4.0 Day 8
Lots of visitors, that seems to be the best medicine so far. Tania has really enjoyed having her friends and family visit. The biggest surprise was when a friend of many years flew all the way from Adelaide to spend a few days. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes. Transplant day is Thursday, please have all available appendages crossed.
Treatment V4.0 day 5
Just waiting for our lift to the hospital to arrive. We couldn’t visit Tania yesterday, Quayd had a low grade temp, and i’ve been feeling like crap for a few days. So we spent the day in the unit watching movies. Quayd’s temp is O.K. now, and althought I still feel like crap, I don’t have a temp or anything, I just put it down to feeling crappy. Tania got a visit from her...
Treatment V4.0 Day 3
Yesterday was a very tough day. Unfortunately Tania is not responding to chemotherapy as hoped. After consulting with her Doctors it’s been decided to proceed with the bone marrow transplant. The situation is not ideal, but there is still some hope. Now we’ve all just got to focus on the transplant and hope for success. The procedure itself is not without possible complications. ...
Tania's Treatment V4.0 Day 1
Well we made it here safely to Sydney yet again. We’ll be staying at Waverton this time as Tania’s Doctors want her as close to the hospital as possible during the long convalescent stage of her treatment. We have a while to go yet to get to that stage, but we’re hopeful. Tania has been feeling quite ill the last couple of weeks, and the results of today’s tests seem to...
