What a weekend!
We went to Sydney to visit Tania over the weekend. I wish I could say she’s improving, but unfortunately the best I can report is that she is no worse.
She’s still not eating and the ulcers don’t seem to be improving. Her Doctors aren’t sure if it’s Graft verses host disease of a virus. The Catch-22 is, if they treat her for Graft verses host disease and it is a virus, the steroids will depress her immune system even further and make the situation worse. So for now it’s wait for more tests to be sure they treat the right thing.
She’s taking it all in her stride, but I can see it’s wearing her down. All she ever says on the phone is “I’m about the same” and Saturday was a bit of a shock, as she did look very drawn and run down.
Then the car broke down on the way home and we had to wait for hours on the side of the freeway for a tow truck. Didn’t get home till late so we’re pretty buggered tonight.
Hopefully there will be some positive action during the week and I’ll have something more positive to report after next weekends trip.
